All technicians in REME TA are recruited as a generic Electronic Technician and are later given the opportunity to specialise. They are responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing all the Army's equipment including radios, weapons systems, optical fibre control systems and night vision equipment on Armoured Fighting Vehicles. They also repair and maintain all military laser, optronic and thermal imaging equipment, test and calibrate physiological, monitoring, therapeutic, surgical, pathology, x-ray, dental and anaesthetic equipment.
